Anthea Jackson, MBA, CPCS is a healthcare administration professional with more than 10 years of credentialing experience.
Anthea is the founder and president of Premier Balance Credentialing Solutions (PBCS), LLC, which provides professional consulting services in areas such as physician and allied health professional credentialing for staff privileges and provider enrollment, public relations services, and virtual practice management.
Prior to founding PBCS, Anthea was the Medical Staff Services Manager for University Hospital and Medical Center and Northwest Medical Center facilities of HCA East Florida division, overseeing the credentialing and continuing medical education for more than 1,200 medical staff members. She also provided and maintained credentialing clearance for student medical doctors, advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and physician assistant (PA) students completing their clinical and residency rotations. Anthea was efficacious in the recertification of various hospital surveys resulting in accreditation maintenance. In addition, she managed and disseminated the emergency department call schedule of approximately 20 sub-specialties. Anthea co-created and implemented medical staff policies and streamlined new medical staff members orientations.
Prior to her tenure with HCA, Anthea held positions as the Director of Physician Services for a locums tenens company where she provided physician and mid-level coverage to the Emergency Department in rural areas. As the Physician Practice and Patient Experience Manager at Pediatric Associates, she focused her talents on increasing patient experience scores by working with executives as they transition to a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Model.
Earlier on, Anthea spent nearly five years as the Physician Practice Manager for Broward Health Physician Group where she assisted with the start-up nearly five internal medicine physician practices including but not limited to physician recruitment, contract negotiation, practice location and hiring of staff. As the Medical Staff and Physician Services Coordinator for Broward Health Medical Center, she was primarily responsible for physician services contracts for the uncompensated care program where she prepared fee-for-service contract proposals for several specialty service lines based on data performances analysis and fair market value assessments provided by third parties. At Broward Health Imperial Point, she maintained credentialing files of providers, and assisted in the editing of the Medical Staff Bylaws, policies and procedures. Prior to her healthcare career, Anthea worked as a Medical Malpractice and Commercial Litigation Paralegal for local law offices within South Florida.
Anthea is currently enrolled with Keiser University for her Doctorate Degree in Business Administration where she also obtained an Associate of Arts in Paralegal Studies earlier in her career. She has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University. She is a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist through the National Association of Medical Staff Services.
Anthea also believes in continued professional and civic involvement. She is the Past Secretary/Treasurer of the South Florida chapter of the National Association of Healthcare Executives and Past Secretary of the South Florida Association of Medical Staff Services - local chapters. In 2011, Anthea was featured in HealthLeaders Media promoting the program she co-created, 'Reform U' Schools Physicians' Staff at Broward Health Medical Center. The program provided hands-on training and networking opportunities for physician office staff that offered practices and strategies on how to deal with claims and collections, negotiating contracts with different insurance carriers. Anthea was highlighted in Sun Sentinel's "People on the Move” in 2011.
Anthea’s passions include traveling, volunteering with her local church to serve her community, and spending time with family and friends.
